Hey all...I've been pretty exhaustively trying all the current streaming services. I know this is a Stadia group but I thought if anyone out there is curious about what the experience is like on other services, perhaps you could benefit from a layman's experience using each service and trying to make it my "main" service. Like I said, I'm a layman, not a professional reviewer, so there's a lot of things I'm still learning, but having tried all three of the major services, here's my thoughts. Edit: Please bear in mind this is not an exhaustive list, just some thoughts based on a couple of months of on and off testing. I'm certainly not trying to sway or influence anyone's purchasing decisions, just giving some general thoughts that might help when trying to decide which service to look into. I know not everyone can get ahold of / rush out and buy all of the devices I have listed here - I happen to work for a tech company so I have a lot more devices floating around than most other people. Your mileage, of course, may vary! I know there's also Steam Link, but since that requires you to have a PC capable of playing the game in the house somewhere, I'm not considering that a streaming service. Testing Devices:

Notable Games: Control, lots of highly rated indie titles (Blasphemous, Bloodstained, Iconoclasts) To be fair, I only have about 6 hours on Amazon Luna, but they've been pretty excruciating. My wifi averages about 75-90 MBps, and about half of the games I tried suffered from lag and graphical smear, mostly the Ubisoft+ games. The indie games played fabulously well. Luna is probably the service I have the least to say about. It's $6 a month for Luna on it's own, so it's kindof like the "also-ran" effort - it's cheap, but might be the most forgettable of the bunch. The user interface is better than GeForce Now, worse than Stadia, and unlike Stadia it doesn't seem like Luna can be enhanced with browser extensions. I have Ubisoft+, so I tried to play Immortal: Fenyx Rising on Luna and it was absolutely horrible. Smeared graphics, dropped frames, input lag, the works. It was the only experience across all of the big three services that was literally unplayable. This seemed to be a problem only with the Ubisoft games, however, I have to stress. Pros
Netflix-style game selection, with lots of indie titles you don't see many other places. Control is the only standout AAA title, and it looks and plays fantastically. Indie games were great too.
Integration with Ubisoft+ is seamless and the games just become part of your library.
Twitch integration is pretty cool - nice to see streamers who are playing the game live when you jump into the game page.
Runs in the browser but also has dedicated apps - a plus for me.
Luna is probably the best service for Twitch streamers - it's integrated right into the UI. I don't stream so I wasn't able to test it, but it seems pretty easy.
Cons
Seems to be in Early Access, so I literally don't know anyone else who has gotten an invite.
The pro of having niche indie games is offset by the con of not having a wide game selection. Of all the services, seems like Luna has the least, but broadest, selection.
Seeing an ad for Luna, WHILE PLAYING LUNA, was irrationally annoying. Amazon just can't freaking help themselves I guess.
I signed up for Luna fully expecting to play all of my games claimed through Prime Gaming...literally none of those games are available.
If there's a way to find Luna from the main Amazon home page, they've hid it pretty well. I'm sure it's buried in one of their dozens of menus but I could not for the life of me find a quick and easy way to get to Luna from Amazon dotcom.
This is a very minor point, but Amazon Luna ONLY works on Chrome, while Google Stadia works in either Chrome or Edge Browser (since it's built on Chromium). Probably doesn't make a difference for most people, but to me Edge seems to run better, so I'm docking a point.
GeForce Now
Notable Games: Cyberpunk 2077, Control, Immortals: Fenix Rising, Metro series, Destiny 2 (all paid) I picked up an nVidia Shield specifically for GeForce now, but my wife and I have ended up using it primarily for Kodi and to watch Netflix more than playing any games on it. I'll just say it straight out - GeForce Now sucks ass. It's a broken, shoddy, inconsistent mess. It's actually WORSE on the Shield than it is on PC, because there are so many times when I needed a keyboard to do anything. I tried playing Immortals: Fenyx Rising on GFN on my Shield which required me to log into Ubisoft+. I'm fine with that, since you only have to do it once...but using the Shield remote that came with my Shield, the on-screen keyboard never popped up, forcing me to track down a second keyboard from in my garage and plug in. After I plugged in the physical keyboard....THEN the onscreen keyboard popped up and just mirrored what I pressed on the physical keyboard. What? Why? Games are all over the place as well. Witcher 3 was a nightmare - every time you try to play the game, it wants to install the DLC packs onto whatever virtual machine you've been assigned. Then when you can play, it dips so far under 30 fps it's literally better to just play it on a budget PC with Hairworks off. Plus the Shield ain't cheap - it was like $200 at Best Buy, and didn't include a controller. $100 more gets you a Series S, and $100 LESS gets you a Stadia-enabled Chromecast WITH a solid as hell controller, just for comparison's sake. Links with Steam, GOG, and Epic, so you keep your games if the service goes down at some point in the future. Also technically "cheaper" overall than Stadia cos you can find cheap keys online or Steam sales (which seem to be more frequent than Stadia sales) and still get the game in your GeForce Now.
GFN seems to have the widest selection of enabled games. Not all that impressive since you have to own the game already, but this does give it somewhat of an advantage.
Links to Epic library, which is cool. 80% of my games on Epic were not GFN enabled, which is not as cool.
Cons
Literally the hardest of the big three services to use. Not a "pick up and play" experience. Requires a lot of effort to get working, and even then, inconsistent across platforms.
Even on nVidias own hardware, it can be tricky to figure out what games actually are on GeForce Now and which aren't and get them running right.
Some games just don't play well. Witcher 3 is a buggy, low framerate mess...while Control is smooth as butter. No rhyme or reason as to why. I couldn't get Mankind Divided to play full-screen - it always wanted to play in a window.
Since you're just running a virtual machine, you still have to fiddle with graphical settings. Some games don't look right when first started, and you have to remember to go into the settings and change things to match whatever screen you're on.
Twice I still had to wait in a queue to play even though I paid for the Founder's subscription. Insanely frustrating.
One hour limit to gameplay if you don't pay for the Founder's subscription, and you're stuck waiting in a queue. There were times where I was in a queue of over 300, which translated to upwards of 18 minutes one session, waiting to play. I would go as far as to say, if you don't pay for Founder's, don't bother with GFN at all.
Also, just because I don't have anywhere else to put this, Ubisoft's Cloud Save system is atrocious. This isn't nVidia's fault, I just want to complain about it.
Google Stadia
Notable Games: Cyberpunk 2077 (paid), Hitman: World of Assassination (Pro), Destiny 2 (Pro), Red Dead Redemption II (Paid) Stadia is easily the best overall, but it still has its cons. I came to Stadia thanks to Cyberpunk 2077 so I have the most hours played on Stadia of the big three services. Stadia on the Chromecast Ultra seems to me to be the hands down best way to play streamed games currently. Of all the services, Stadia was the one that felt the least like a "me-too" service and more like a dedicated platform. Almost all of the other services felt like a way for corporations to dip their toe in the water and figure out if there's money to be made, while Stadia feels like someone who really grasps and cares about gaming is at the helm. Least barrier to entry. Download Chrome or Edge Browser, grab any bluetooth controller, and you're off the races.
No subscription required. You can play any game purchased on Stadia without a subscription with no queue system, no picking a virtual machine, no Steam big picture mode...it's just, hit the Play button and go.
This is a big one for me - seems to have the best "capture" integration. Though, the iOS / Android app could use work (just let me download the image and share it? Why do I need to share a link?) overall, sharing your snaps and vids is pretty easy on Stadia.
Playing with the Stadia controller on my TV after picking up a Chromecast Ultra felt like magic.
Similarly, being able to "pick up and play" games like Cyberpunk 2077 on a Chromebook felt similarly magical. The game looked its best, believe it or not, on a Samsung Chromebook that I tested at Best Buy. Random side note but the Google guy at Best Buy was SO EXCITED that I wanted to check out Stadia on a Chromebook. He was over the moon.
The game selection for Pro does have some interesting titles that I wouldn't have picked up otherwise. But see Con 1 below.
Cons
The game selection for Stadia Pro is a tad lackluster at the moment. Definitely enough to keep me playing, but there wasn't really a "must have" title that jumped out at me. Bunch of average, quite playable titles
The game selection for purchases is a little thin as well, seeing as how the service is over a year old at this point. I know it’s on literally every other platform but I would have loved to do a second play through of Control on Stadia, and stuff like Horizon: Zero Dawn, Hades, even some older indie titles like Transistor or Pyre, some of the Lego games...
UI seems like an complete afterthought, which is a little weird since this is a Google product. This is solved a little bit by extensions like Stadia Enhanced, but that's a third party fix so I'm still listing it as a con. No search? Captures seem deprecated?
Probably the highest "cost" to play, since you have to buy the games outright, and sales seem few and far between. If Stadia just vanishes at some point (which, let's be fair, Google has a track record of doing with their services) they haven't really outlined what happens to your library.
No raytracing yet. Not really a con for me personally, but other services offer it.
This may just be a bug but I'm listing it as a con - a number of times the Stadia homepage just wouldn't load. I was left staring at the Stadia logo wondering what was going on for minutes at a time. I'd have to close out of the browser and restart. Not sure if that's an issue with Chrome, but it seemed to happen on Edge browser as well.
Stadia-specific versions of games. Now, hear me out - usually this is a PRO not a con, but in Stadia’s case it seems to be a con as making a wholly new build of a game for a specific platform probably just isn’t in the cards for a lot of developers. That could be what’s slowing down a lot of games coming to Stadia - the time and money required to build a new version of the game. Hopefully we see some “Stadia first” games that will convince other developers to jump on board.
Xbox Game Pass / Game Pass Unlimited / Gold / Live / Play Anywhere / xCloud / Whatever it's being called these days
Notable Games: Nier: Automata BAG Edition, Dragon Quest XI S, Dragon Age: Inquisition, Mass Effect Andromeda Xbox Game Pass gets added to this list on a pure technicality. So, technically Xbox Game Pass isn't a streaming service, but I include it because on Android, there actually is a "cloud" option for playing your console Game Pass library. The Cloud streaming works surprisingly well, but you're limited to either an Android tablet or phone because it doesn't seem to work properly on Android TV. I've heard you can sideload onto the nVidia Shield, but that was beyond the scope of what I was trying to accomplish with these reviews...I just want something I can pick up and play. So, yeah if you don't mind playing on your phone, Game Pass Cloud is actually probably the best of the bunch in terms of ease of use and game selection. There are so many things I want to play on Game Pass it's actually a little overwhelming. However, I don't want to stare at a 5" screen for hours to do so. Pros
Wide game selection with lots of games being added every month (almost every week, seems like)
Broad game selection - seems to be some standouts from just about every game genre. I know this seems like a repeat of point one, but they're very different things - it's one thing to just throw a ton of games on your service, its another to make sure you're representing every genre out there, which Game Pass seems to do more admirably than any other service.
Streaming seems to work just fine. I was able to play Dragon Quest: Inquisition on my Android phone with very little issue. Couple of times the connection dropped, but it was no better or worse than Stadia.
It seems like services are stumbling all over themselves to get included in Game Pass.
Cons
Again, inconsistent experience. Offerings are different on console than on PC...why is Torchlight III a console exclusive? Why are all the good games pushed to console and cloud, with PC being an afterthought?
Games seem to come and go randomly - some popular games pop up for a few months and are gone, other seemingly niche titles have been on the service since launch
Probably the biggest con - no streaming on PC, iOS, or Android TV. Baffling choice. Maybe there's business reasons I'm not aware of, but as a user, it's maddening.
Minor point, but good lord Microsoft needs to simplify EVERYTHING related to Xbox. No one can figure out what the hell service we have when I try to talk to people about it - there's Game Pass, but there's also Games with Gold, then there's Live, then there's Game Pass Ultimate, but there's also Play Anywhere, which isn't really a service, just some sort of cross-play, And the number of times people thought I have a Series X when I actually have a One X was insanely frustrating as well. I know this doesn't have anything to do with the service, but jeez man why is everything Microsoft does so haphazard?
Whew! I actually had way more to say on this topic than I thought, I guess. I've probably spent more time and energy on this than I should have, but working from home has given me a lot of time on my hands, so hopefully my experiences can help save someone else some time and effort. Would love some counterpoints as well!
Shadow PC on the 4K Fire TV Stick [Setup Instructions]
Just wanted to share my experience today setting up Shadow on the Fire TV Stick. Played Star Wars: Fallen Order on ultra settings without a hiccup. Here's the hardware list for setup:

The Firestick is located close to our 5G router. It's a basic router that came with the cable service. You can setup anywhere in the house, given you have a mesh network in your home (pods supplied by cable service that extend WiFi around your home). Instructions:
The Firestick comes with an extender cable in the box. This I believe boosts the WiFi signal, so suggested to plug it in.
Connect your controller to the Firestick. XBOX controllers are best, but the cheaper SN30Pro works, since it has the same buttons essentially, and is well-built.
Install "Mouse Toggle" app on Firestick. This gives you mouse functionality needed later. Follow this guide to install it, and despite comments, you can use the 4K Firestick link provided in the article. It works: https://www.firesticktricks.com/mouse-toggle-firestick.html
Install "Downloader" app on Firestick (covered in guide above).
Within Downloader app, navigate to APKMirror and download/install the latest Shadow build for Android. I used the 3.4.4 BETA: https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/blade-group/
On your mobile phone or tablet, install the "Fire TV" app from official app store. This gives you a bluetooth keyboard needed later. Once downloaded, connect it to your Firestick using the code provided on screen.
Go to your computer and fire up Shadow PC. If like me you have games on several platforms like Steam, Epic, Amazon, Origin, etc., you'll want to access your installed games that utilize a controller in one interface on the Firestick.
Open Steam, and add the games you want to show up on the Firestick from each platform. Installed Steam games will show up in your library automatically, as you'll be using Steam's Big Picture Mode to navigate on the stick. Games from other platforms must be manually added. A few tips - favorite the games in Steam you've manually added from other platforms. In this way, they stay separated from your main Steam library for easy removal later. Also, you likely will want to rename the games in Steam as they take on the game's executable file name (which is not pretty).
In Steam settings > Interface > enable “Run Steam when my computer starts” and “Start Steam in Big Picture Mode”.
In Shadow settings, set your bandwidth to a few Mbps lower than recommended, to ensure smooth playback. In my case, they recommended 20 Mbps. I set it to 10 Mbps.
Shut down your Shadow session, note your Shadow username/password, and return to the Fire TV Stick.
Open Shadow app on the Firestick. Login with your credentials. You can use the standard Firestick remote for this part with its built-in keyboard.
Once credentials are entered, you'll be presented with a 6-digit confirmation code sent to your email to approve the connection. Open the "Fire TV" app on your phone and with its keyboard, enter the 6 digits in the email. Then click the "Continue" button in Shadow.
Shadow will ask to convert your Shadow PC to Beta version. This is OK, as it only does it for the session, and nothing gets messed up. When you open Shadow on your computer later, it'll revert back to regular Windows 10 with all your stuff intact.
You should be greeted by Steam in Big Picture Mode when it boots up. From there you can navigate to your installed games library using your XBOX or generic game controller. Launch a game and Bob's your uncle.
If like me you have some Star Wars games from EA, you'll likely need to login to Origin again on the Firestick. Using a combination of "Mouse Toggle" and "Fire TV" apps, you can navigate the Origin login process since it requires keyboard and mouse input. For Mouse Toggle, you press play/pause button twice to enable it, then up/down to move the mouse.
A quick note about bandwidth. The Shadow android app has its own bandwidth setting independent from the standard desktop Shadow settings. By default, it was set to 5 Mbps, so I set it to 10 Mbps (as I know my network can handle that), but YMMV.
It's worth noting that you should keep at least 1GB of storage free on your Firestick at all times for best performance, and the Shadow app uses roughly 55MB of storage space. It keeps next to no additional data or cache. I was pretty shocked at how light it is!
I wanted to document this process in case it helps anyone else. I've heard the 4K Fire TV Stick flakes out on others, but as of January 2021 I had zero issues playing Fallen Order for an hour with the best graphic settings. Also I didn't notice any compression artifacts on a 52" 1080p LCD TV. I don't believe the 30 minute inactivity shutdown is a problem with the android app, so IMO it's worth moving longer gaming sessions to the TV. Less chance of losing in-game progress when you step away for an exercise break. Stay healthy gamers!
EDIT: Wanted to give an update since I mentioned I get connection drops. I've been playing various games on Stadia for the past two days without a single connection drop after wiring up the CCU. I had one small network blip maybe yesterday but since the CCU is wired now it came back almost instantly. Seems to be working great for the past couple days and I expected massive network saturation due to the Christmas holidays, even bought a disgusting amount of games in the recent sale. Long story short, I've been waiting for an Xbox Series S to be in stock forever, and an RX 6800, and well you know the rest. I decided to give Stadia a really good try and so far it's been excellent. The connection does drop sometimes, but I have my CCU wired so it comes back immediately. I bought Cyberpunk and got the free premier edition and I have to say, it's a completely different experience than playing on a web browser. Basically Stadia has become my new next-gen gaming console and it's awesome! The CCU is more reliable, more stable, and overall more enjoyable to use than playing through a web browser. Yes you can force 1440p and 4k through extensions, but the CCU is just rock solid in terms of quality and stability. The controller, wow, I love it, it fits my hands perfectly, the joysticks feel great, the quality is top notch and the wifi connection reduces latency enough that you can simply adapt and use the latency like it's a part of your joystick deadzone. The biggest advantage I've found is no longer needing to install some of the games on my PC that could be taking up a significant amount of space, such as Elder Scrolls Online. I can play ESO with PC players, and I own it and Greymoor on Stadia, so why would I want to download and install 150GB of data to my PC when I can just stream it and be up and running instantly? Right now I have a gaming PC, Xbone S, and Switch, and Stadia has gotten more playtime in the past week than anything else I own, it's amazing. Does the connection drop every so often? Yes. Is there noticeable latency even when using the Stadia controller? Yes. Can you realistically adapt to the latency and eventually get to a point where it's a non-issue? Yes. Stadia is great, and I hope the Stadia team continues to build on the technology in ways that are innovative and beneficial. Things like, buffering static assets that don't need to be loaded in real-time such as textures for levels or skyboxes. I would also like to see more crossplay, I know that's up to the devs, but helping those devs achieve that crossplay functionality would be great.
Got invited to try Luna this weekend. I’m a Stadia Founder, and have been a Pro member since Day 1. Decided to do an Apples to Apples test of Luna to see how it compares. I used: Surface Pro 7 on WiFi (5GHz) Xbox One Controller ATT Gigabit Fiber I figured the best test would be using Grid, as that’s a good game to feel out frame rate and input responsiveness. It’s also in both libraries. I did 3 races on Luna in free play mode, and then the same 3 races on Stadia. Same tracks, same cars, same settings for controls, difficulty, etc. Both services were set to highest settings available. I installed the Luna App. Stadia was run via the Edge Browser, no plugins or mods to it. My take? Amazon has some catching up to do. Stadia provides the clearly superior experience across the board. Better audio, much smoother visuals, and better resolution. The Luna stream would chunk and slow down during chaotic sequences, like a crash happening in front of me. I also lost controller input during my second race for about 10 seconds. Comparing the offerings, Luna is cheaper monthly than Stadia Pro, but personally, the Luna library is weaker than Stadia. Plus, without the ability to purchase games, you are tied to that monthly fee. Seems most of the good games are locked behind the Ubisoft+ subscription, so we’re talking $20+ a month to play what you want to play. Obviously, we on the Stadia subreddit would prefer Stadia, but after testing both in this way, Stadia is the clear choice for me. Your mileage may vary, but to me, Luna can’t touch Stadia right now. We’ll see what the future brings. If you’ve tried both, what are your thoughts?

It all started with me wanting to play Cyberpunk but realizing I don't nor will be able to have a gaming PC that can run it properly. I got a fancy new 4K TV so I wanted some glorious graphics, or at least good graphics with good framerates lol. I started looking around in the Cloud gaming space and found Stadia & GeForce Now. I was kinda skeptical about both (but not anymore) so I thought "Hey, I'm a cloud engineer! I could build this myself!" And so the project began... It was fairly easy to figure out what to use to be honest. I'm an AWS guy so naturally I wanted to do it there, and it turns out that no other big cloud provider has anything better than what Amazon offers. I decided on the g4dn.xlarge instance type which has 4CPUs, 16GB RAM and an Nvidia T4 GPU (GCP & Azure providers have this instance too btw). Before starting the instance I was wandering about the interwebs on tips & tricks and found Parsec's ready-made solution in the form of a setup script that works for this instance type out of the box. I choose the Windows 2019 Server Base AMI and set up the machine with RDP. Heads up; the script is not super fault tolerant, so make sure to read everything that it displays otherwise you'llo have to start over again, which takes like 20min. The script installs all the drivers and bells and whistles automatically. I logged into my Parsec account during the installation on the server so at the next reboot Parsec started automatically. All I had to do was connect. After things were running, I Parsec'd into the machine and installed CS:GO because it was honestly just free on steam and it's perfect for testing the setup. To my surprise, everything worked pretty much flawlessly right out of the gate. At this point I was on wifi on my MacBook and using keyboard+touchpad, so the gaming experience wasn't that great but still very playable. There was some input lag tho which I'm gonna talk about in just a second. I also ran some good ol' benchmarks but they turned out pretty sh*tty if I might say so. The numbers basically came back to a GTX 1050Ti category, which I was not happy about but later realized there's something fishy going on. See I am not sure why, but the benchmarking apps report pretty bad test results, but when I play AAA games on the box, I can almost max them out without a fuzz, which is surprising. I am not sure to this day (it's been a week since I started this haha) why the benchmarks are so bad when the power of the GPU while actually playing games is so good. In fact it's so good that the whole system is running at around 50-60% utilization while playing on 90% maxed out graphics GTA5 and Red Dead Redemption 2 in 4K! I don't really understand how, but the T4 GPU is a beast, even for gaming, which I was a bit afraid of in the beginning. I haven't been able to test with more games but I'll update once I get some time into Cyberpunk. I am not expecting full-fledged graphics on it tho, and also no RTX unfortunately. I will mostly play that game on GeForce Now tho since it's gonna be a better experience, but this DIY Cloud Gamer server will still serve for playing any game that is not on Nvidia's platform. All in all, I'm very happy with this instance type and how smoothly everything is going. I'm using wireless XBOX ONE controller (model a1708) with my MacBook Pro 2020 and it all works great (there was some discussion that this controller doesn't work wirelessly on MacBooks, which is not true). It honestly feels like as if I'm playing the games locally. Highlights:
Use LAN instead of wifi. This should be a default but I feel the need to say this. Even 5G wifi introduces lagging on quite a consistent basis. Use a cable.
The picture quality and gaming experience is 97% as good as playing locally if your local hardware is proper. There isn't much input lag, or at least not to my all-life console gamer eyes. I play on my TV with the Apple HDMI adapter in 4K. The amount of latency is very much playable, or even unnoticable. Make sure to put your TV into game mode, it matters here.
Parsec is amazing. My MacBook can do H265 encoding which makes a giant difference over H264. My other MacBook is older and can't use that codec, and the difference is very much noticable. It helps a ton with en-/decoding latency & picture quality.
The server is ~500km away from me and I have a pretty good fiber internet connection. Your mileage may vary.
I'm using Spot instances which greatly reduce the costs. I'm not worried about the costs as much because I got AWS credits, but Spot is about $0.4/hour and on-demand is $0.8/hour. Never had a Spot instance taken from me ever tho. Heads up that Spot instances terminate on shutdown, so make sure you uncheck "delete on termination" for your volumes (found out the hard way).
I'm gonna make improvements to the setup of course, this is just a developed POC. For example I want to be able to shout "Hey Siri, turn on the gaming rig" to my HomePod and have it start up everything. This will be solved with Step Functions and a little Lambda magic. After the current instance is terminated, I'll also set up automation to create an AMI from the latest volumes for the new instance ready to be used. So when I tell Siri to turn it on, it's all available under ~3 minutes. After new instance is up & running, it just shows up in Parsec (this is the case right now as well). What do you think? Ideas, inspiration, feedback and all that is welcome!
[HELP] Random high spikes of ping, program suspected to lag the network
Hey everyone, I'm hoping you can give me some advice as to what is causing extremely high spikes of ping. For a long time my brother has been really imposing with our home network, he will get very mad and throw a fit usually if someone needs to download something. My dad will have to update COD sometimes, it's one of his favorite games to unwind playing. My brother will get really mad and just start screaming about the game and how laggy it is even sometimes disconnecting his Xbox from our network if he's taking a nap so that my brother won't be lagged. I know it's pretty horrible, he can't wait for someone to be able to get a update finished that keeps the roof over his head up. We're both older so there is not a lot of excuse for being rude anymore like he acts. He'll get mad when our mom is home from work and is playing a app game on her phone connected to wifi because the adds loading between games will slow him down. It's a sad situation kinda. So back on topic, about 2 years ago For Honor was one of my favorite games and that's when the issue started- I started winning literally every match against the sweatiest players having a lot of fun. Nobody could beat me, and then extremely high spikes of ping started and at first it wouldn't happen more than once or twice a match my ping would shoot up to 200-500 for a split second just enough time to mess up my parry and get me hit with a heavy attack or a few attacks. I know it has to be a program because the lag really seems unnatural, like it's not a variable affected but rather someone is turning it on or off. It sounds crazy but I can tell from the patterns in the lag spikes it totally seems like someone is turning a program on or something plus at first my brother would giggle up a bit when the lag would happen playing For Honor. At first the lag would happen so briefly it would be hard to notice unless you saw it flash on the scoreboard, I started thinking I was actually awful at the game I was missing every parry and thought I was just on a lucky streak before, but then games where I didn't lag once I would completely destroy the enemy. The lag didn't affect him either, I never heard him get mad about 100-500 ping up until half a year ago March-June when he realized it doesn't make sense he has no problem playing online, he started acting like he was hitting these ping spikes which that wasn't possible because it literally makes playing online impossible for me. Some days it doesn't even happen at all when he's in a good mood, and it happens less when it seems like he's sleeping. I know for a fact he stays up watching videos on his phone until when he thinks I must think he's asleep just to do it a few times. Here is the table data from Ping-Test, I'm having these random high spikes that last for a few seconds of 200-600 ping. It is obvious that someone is causing this issue on my local network, the duration, intensity, and even context of the ping spikes such as when they happen say someone is causing them to me. On the home network's router home portal, it is showing a significant amount of errors and packet loss % but only on the ethernet slot that I have my brother and I's ethernet cord splitted into, of which after I noticed and took a picture of my brother cleared the statistic counter on the page. What the hell is going on here? Previously I have done the ipv4 test in the runcommand window to ping to different locations, I was getting high ping spikes everywhere so I know it must be a issue with the router or a setting my brother must have changed or the program doing it. It's not the first time he has installed programs to mess with the home network and bottleneck him bandwidth, and when we only had one computer that we would have to share he would install programs to remotely shutdown the computer to try to make me think there was a virus on it that I somehow got on there and wouldn't know how to fix so he wouldn't have to wait for me to have a turn on it. He does not know how to share anything and he gets mad if you don't let him take something from you that he should be sharing with you. Within the last couple days it has gotten worse which is kinda weird because I started ripping on it a bit, now I'm getting small spikes of up to 1000-3000 ping, the other day I hit 10,000 ping while playing a game and it didn't even kick me until after a few seconds. I'm hoping that someone can suggest a program or a way to trace what is going on in my local network, the ping spikes happen regardless of whether I'm using a ethernet connection or wifi. When I first switched to a ethernet cable and made a point to my brother who was suggesting it was the wifi that was doing it (Allowing him to lag me while keeping his connection and my dad's at top speed without us suspecting anything) at first he as acting like he did something wrong and was trying to cover it up or he was embarrassed. He was hiding in his room a little bit and the ping spikes stopped for a few days and then they came back, I made a comment about it just trash talking about the game and the ping spikes got even worse and slowly but surely he started lagging me on ethernet like he did when I'm on Wifi. He thinks he is the overlord of our home network and he gets mad when someone else is even just playing a video game online, some nights he even turned off wifi when I was still up playing online because he thinks that he needs to have more bandwidth even though we now have a connection that downloads at 5MB per second.

I managed to beat the bots and get a ps5, so this ps4 is living it's life as a stand for my monitor now. Will come with the power cord and dualshock 4. On the latest firmware IIRC.Just for transparency, i got the ps4 broken with the white line of death back in september 2019. I fixed it by opening it up, cleaning it out, replacing the thermal paste and putting 4 washers on the apu clamp to put more pressure on the chip. The console has worked flawlessly since, and i have no reason to believe it will have problems any time soon.
Comes with cpu original box and stock cooler. Mobo will come without box, and with the wifi antenna and io shield. Ram is 2666 mhz. Not sure which model the noctua cooler is, but it's quiet and works fine on the 1600. Also not pictured is a 256gb patriot nvme ssd installed on the back.

Once complete, unplug your power supply from the wall and from your console.
Leave everything unplugged for a few minutes.

How will I receive the exclusive DOOM Eternal skins that come from linking the Bethesda Account to DOOM, DOOM II, and DOOM 3? These items will be granted to the Bethesda Account when DOOM Eternal launches. Be sure you use the same Bethesda.net/Slayers Club accounts on both your classic DOOM titles and DOOM Eternal. What do I do if I can't progress in an objective in DOOM Eternal? Sometimes you may be near an objective marker, but it could be on a higher or lower platform. Check your Map to make sure you are at the correct location. If you are currently blocked by a Demon Gate, a demon may have escaped the area. In most cases they will return to the main arena shortly. If they do not return, restart from an earlier saved checkpoint by selecting Load Checkpoint from the Pause Menu. If you are unable to load your previous checkpoint, you will have to select Reset Mission or Exit to Main Menu. How do I use Photo Mode in DOOM Eternal? Issue: I've noticed that some of my customized DOOM Slayer skins aren't showing up correctly in BATTLEMODE lobbies and podium screens. Is there anything I can do about this? Resolution: Resetting all weapon skins to default and reselecting your Slayer and weapon skins from the BATTLEMODE Customization menu will resolve this issue. This issue can also be avoided this if you select your DOOM Slayer character and weapon skins from the main menu's Customization sub-menu before entering BATTLEMODE. Issue*: I just finished playing a Ripatorium session from the Fortress of DOOM. Can I play another one right away?* Resolution: You can only play one Ripatorium session per visit to the Fortress of DOOM. Issue:I'm on my first play-through of the campaign and the Slayer Gate Keys aren't appearing. Is there anything I can do about this? Resolution: Deactivating Cheat Codes in the Mission Select menu will resolve this. Issue:I am getting the following message: "No username specified. Please complete account verification." What does it mean and what can I do? Resolution: There are two possible causes for this message. The good news is that you can continue into the game unimpeded for both cases. 1) Users who have created Bethesda.net accounts without specifying a username in another Bethesda title will see this message. For these users, you will need to complete the steps outlined in the Account Verification email that Bethesda.net sent you at the time of account creation in order to dismiss this message. 2) Some users who have created Bethesda.net user names are also reporting they are seeing this message. This user group is experiencing a delay in backend services that we are working dilligently to resolve. I managed to beat the bots and get a ps5, so this ps4 is living it's life as a stand for my monitor now. Will come with the power cord and dualshock 4. On the latest firmware IIRC.Just for transparency, i got the ps4 broken with the white line of death back in september 2019. I fixed it by opening it up, cleaning it out, replacing the thermal paste and putting 4 washers on the apu clamp to put more pressure on the chip. The console has worked flawlessly since, and i have no reason to believe it will have problems any time soon.
Comes with cpu original box and stock cooler. Mobo will come without box, and with the wifi antenna and io shield. Ram is 2666 mhz. Not sure which model the noctua cooler is, but it's quiet and works fine on the 1600. Also not pictured is a 256gb patriot nvme ssd installed on the back.
In good condition. Comes with all the hardware pictured and a fan i found lying around installed in the front. I would be willing to trade this locally for a matx case if you have a spare one you don't want anymore.

When researching online for my error code, i discovered that a faulty disk drive was a possible cause for the error. When i swapped disk drives between the two, the broken xbox worked just fine. 2020 Game Streaming Services Review: Xcloud is utter garbage when compared to Stadia or just about anything else.
To give a little background on my position I will share my experience. I utilize a 1Gbps fiber connection to the internet in Texas for streaming. I run these services on a Galaxy S10 (stand alone w/Kishi and DeX), a Hisense H9F Android TV, and an upgraded Razer Edge Pro PC (with control module and dock). The following views come from a paying subscriber's perspective. I am a Stadia Founder, a current Shadow subscriber, a Game Pass Ultimate PC subscriber and formerly a Geforce Now (GFN) Founder. Right now I game about 50/50 between Stadia and Shadow. Admittedly, I use Shadow more because it also functions as a powerful mobile graphics workstation for me. I'm going to touch on some common points about these services and maybe some uncommon ones based on the gear I use. I'd also like to get something out of the way before I get started. If I had to choose just one service to keep out of all of those mentioned above it would be Shadow without a doubt. That being said nothing beats the streaming gaming experience on Stadia from my point of view. Resolution, Framerate, Color quality: 1st - Stadia 2nd - Shadow 3rd - GFN 4th - Xcloud Stadia's 4k 60fps HDR capabilities making it the best in its class for streaming gameplay. This is especially apparent on a Chromecast Ultra where the experience is more consistent (various hardware and software factors on PC can effect performance) . Shadow is capable of limited 4k (no hdr support with limited framerate performance) and newer packages which I haven't tested yet are rolling out but aren't commonly available enough yet to consider as a feature of the service yet. GFN is capped at FHD (1080p) at 60fps with no HDR support currently to the best of my knowledge but it performed well when I used it. Xcloud runs at 720p 60fps but poorly with plenty of artifacts and image distortion. It is dead last by a long margin due to inferior video stream quality that offers neither quality or consistency. Overall Hardware Support (Play Anywhere) 1st- Shadow 2nd- GFN 3rd- Stadia 4th- Xcloud Shadows has officially support apps across every major hardware platform (PC, Android, and Android TV). There are no controller restrictions and wireless devices are supported. Shadow can also be scaled by the user through the application to fit almost any scenario (ex: Wireless, Mobile data). It is also relatively easy to jump across different Hardware in the same session. It also has a dedicated hardware platform, the Shadow Ghost. GFN has official apps on Android and PC but will require a sideload to use on Android TV. GFN is also scalable through the application though not quite at the same level as Shadow (ex: no codec options). It also performs well on most modern Android TVs. It has a dedicated hardware platform, the Nvidia Shield. Stadia is a really close runner up here to GFN and supports many of the same options but doesn't really perform as well on mobile data. This could improve in the future and use of the platform over mobile data is relatively new and considered experimental. Xcloud comes in dead last here too. Xcloud only officially supports Android. It can be sideloaded to Android TV but doesn't perform nearly as well as GFN, Shadow, or Stadia on most TVs. You also better know what APK your hardware supports and hope the app shows up in your app menu once you sideload and install it. In best case scenarios wifi and supported hardware Xcloud runs acceptably but beyond that it is a mess of stuttering and subpar image quality. Xcloud is also cropped which is obvious on larger displays. There is no application for Xcloud on PC at this time. Game Library: 1st - Shadow 2nd - Stadia 3rd - GFN 4th - Xcloud Shadow is hands down the winner here as it is a full featured PC with nearly no limitation on what you can play to include mods of existing games. Some newer anti cheats on modern games such a Valorant block play on Shadow but they are few and far between. While GFN does edge out Stadia in quantity there are some caveats that place it behind Stadia overall. There are no guarantees with what games will maintain developer approval on GFN. Many major publishers have pulled their libraries since its official launch. While Stadia's available library continues to grow GFN's has shrunk considerably. It simply isn't safe to invest in a GFN library unless you own a PC capable of running those games well. If you do then you have better options available to you than using any of these services. The guarantee of free games added to your library each month coupled with official developer give Stadia a clear advantage here. Xcloud boasts approximately 100 games at launch. It is by no means a distant 4th here compared to previous categories we've covered. Many of these titles are first party offerings by Microsoft or low budget games. The offerings are not nearly as diverse in regards to third party developers AAA titles such as Stadia or Shadow. Don't expect to play the best Ubisoft, Rockstar, and others offer here. Also you won't see brand new titles featured here first unless it's a first party offering. If you are into Microsoft games then you might rate Xcloud higher against Stadia or GFN but it's an accessory service and not a main platform like Stadia which limits its potential. Pricing and Plans: 1st: GFN 2nd: Stadia 3rd: Shadow 4th: Xcloud GFN has the lowest cost of entry at around $5 (USD) a month for premium access while also offering limited free access. You also get to play PC titles you may already own while being able to get often low PC game level pricing on new editions to your library. Stadia comes in second here offering a premium subscription for approxiamately $10 a month and limited free access. Stadia also offers a number of free titles to add to your library each month contingent on maintaining your premium subscription. While some sales are available on this platform games on Stadia do tend to cost more than their PC counterparts or older console versions). Shadow is similiar to GFN but has no free access and costs approximately $12 dollars a month for it cheapest plan option with an annual commitment. Shadow offers additional storage and is rolling out upgraded hardware plans at a cost. Xcloud is bundle with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate which costs around $15 a month with no free access plan. While Xbox Game Pass (XGP) bundled with the service offers a wide selection of games many titles are depend on which platform you subscribe to (PC or Console) and all gamepass games or not available for play on Xcloud. It would be great if Microsoft offered Xcloud as a stand alone service in the future to reduce the cost of entry and I am in no way knocking XGP's value but if you are in the market solely for a game streaming service Xcloud currently has the highest cost of entry. All that being said outside of the focus of this review (game streaming services), if you are looking at overall value, Shadow stands out once again as it offers a powerful cloud workstation in addtional to a great PC gaming solution. Accessibility (Ease of Use and Access Experience): 1st- Stadia 2nd- Xcloud 3rd- GFN 4th- Shadow Stadia really shines here. The ability to quickly get into your games to play along with often drastically reduced load times really sets Stadia apart from its peers. This is especially apparent in MMOs where loading into different areas really impacts your overall experience. Not to mention the platform's integration with home assistants and smart devices. Stadia is a very distant first here. Xcloud also is fairly simple to access via the XGP app but takes considerably longer to get into a game than Stadia and doesn't feature vastly superior load times as many games don't seem optimized for the service. All games are preloaded though which firmly places it 2nd in this category behind stadia. GFN has many games preloaded but not all. You also have to contend with additional game service logins beyond the GFN interface and may be required to jump through some hoops to optimize your game settings if needed. Load time performances vary based on fhe game but falls far behind Stadia overall. Shadow requires you to pre-install all of the game services you require and games on them. It is a full featured PC and demands a higher level of attention to use. Loads times are great for a PC but don't expect anything exceptional compared to an optimized platform like Stadia. You also have to ensure you configure Windows correctly to support the services and games you want to use sometimes in spite of Shadows default configuration. It can be a real headache if you aren't tech savvy. Conclusion: Well that is everything I have on the subject for now. It's been a while since I've cared about GFN as I let my subscription lapse shortly after nearly every major publisher pulled their titles reducing my usable library by 70% so some of my information may be out of date. I am also fairly new to Xcloud but given how hideous it looks and performs compared to Shadow or Stadia I doubt I will be spending a lot of time on it. I also feel that Stadia is in its infancy and has many features planned that will really set it apart. It will also be interesting to see how Sony's streaming sevice developes but as of yet I haven't had any experience with it. I have enjoyed many of Sony's first party games in the past so I do plan to try it out in the future. Hope this helps someone decide what service to invest in and what to steer clear of. It truly amazes me how unreliable the press is regarding covering these services. The best thing to do is try them for yourself. *** Update : Network Information *** I'm using an AT&T BGW210 running wired to a 1 Gb port to an Android TV, a 1Gb port for Chomecast Ultra, and get about 500+ Mbps up and down on a 5Ghz wifi link to my phone. The PC itself is connected through a wireless AC adapter and gets about 350 Mbps up and down to anywhere in my home. Mobile service is 4G through AT&T with approximately 50 Mbps download in the area around my home. Latency to the first hop on a speedtest is about 2-5 ms. For the mobile service it is 15-20 ms.
TL;DR: Smart Delivery discs are just base Xbox One versions on disc. Smart Delivery on a Series X means full digital download and not update patches to the base game like on One X. If you have slow / capped internet (or both), or like physical discs to cut down on downloads / preserve games, you may want to reconsider getting a Series X right now. I assume Series S is the same. Full post: Let me preface by saying I buy all the consoles, but Xbox One was my lead platform last gen. Even with the whole 900p controversy on the OG Xbox, I still bought all multiplats on OG Xbox One. This paid off when One X came around. So again, I got both consoles with the plan to make Series X lead platform as I still believe in its better hardware despite early benchmarks. I also buy discs because of better prices and because my internet is not super fast and I have to deal with Comcast data caps. That said, I've been noticing launch games on disc having huge downloads lately. What gives? Ok, so I did a bunch of testing using Smart Delivery Series X games on an Xbox One X and a Xbox Series X. My internet isn't the fastest so this took awhile when downloading updates/upgrades. Games I tested with: Dirt 5, Assassins Creed: Valhalla, WatchDogs Legion, The Falconeer. Tables of results: Installing disc and update separately Installing disc and update together Overall the base Xbox One game is on the disc. When you install it to a Xbox One X, you get the Xbox One game. If you're online, it wants to download an update. This could be just patches or patches and enhancements. Either way it's a smaller file. When you install the disc to a Xbox Series X offline (must be forced, see below), you get the same base Xbox One version. But if you're online it'll ask if you want to upgrade (not update) and it downloads the full digital version (still requires the disc to play). Only 10% or less of the game is installed from the disc. As a result, the downloads are massive. Dirt 5 is a clear example of that at over double the base Xbox One install size. The Falconeer is the outlier in that the disc install is 2.4-2.5GB and the update on all platforms replaces the entire disc install with an overall smaller install. Couple oddities to note about Xbox Series X offline installing for all games tested except The Falconeer:
For Dirt 5 only, If the Series X detects internet connection, it will prompt you to do the upgrade when you try to install from disc. If you reject it, it closes and no install happens. It won't install anything. You have to disconnect wifi / unplug ethernet to force it to install the disc version. This doesn't happen on One X, because it installs the base game by default anyway.
After installing the game, you can't start them without internet. You will get an error saying that internet is needed to complete the installation. Nothing actually downloads, it just does an online check (maybe)? This doesn't happen on One X. So if you don't have internet at all, you're not going to be playing anything on Series X apparently
If you force the disc install to the Series X, and then enable wifi / plug ethernet back when you try to launch the game, it will prompt for the upgrade. If you deny it, the game doesn't launch. So you have to AGAIN disable wifi / unplug ethernet to play.
So based on these, Dirt 5 was the most annoying because I had to unplug to get it to install, re-plug to get it to finalize, the unplug again to get it to play. Bottom line: If you have slow/capped internet, or prefer physical for less downloading / preserving games, don't get a Series X unless you want to play every cross gen game as an Xbox One (not X) game in BC mode or wait days for a game to download. Until they start putting only Series X games on the disc, or start considering the Series X as the lead platform, it'll be this way. If you want to play next gen games with the least downloading right now, get a PS5 and buy the PS5 versions of the game. Sucks, but that's the way it is.

Two of the biggest reasons that I've decided to build my first PC are because my current laptop doesn't cut it for Lightroom or Unreal engine. My current laptop doesn't meet the minimum requirements for Lightroom so I installed darktable and the performance is almost unusable. I also installed unreal engine while I was trying to learn some game development and this laptop isn't going to cut it. (I use a Lenovo ideapad y510p). I've listed some of the things I'll be using the pc for below: Gaming - I play on the Xbox One and PS4 at the moment and I'm not too picky about fps and resolution but I do want to build a pc that I can use for the next 10 years with minimal upgrades (I've been using the same laptop for over 10 years now). I don't think I'll be getting a 4k monitor at first but I do plan on getting one eventually. I play a lot of cod warzone at the moment but I also play a lot of campaign based games. Photo editing - Going to be using Lightroom and Photoshop and managing large amounts of image files. I may also get into video editing down the line. Game Development - Learning game development at the moment so I'd like a PC that I can use Unreal Engine 4 on.

I want to say $2000 without the monitor but I'm pretty flexible if it means getting something I can use over a long period of time with minimal upgrades.
