[WTS] Auction Leftovers #6
Hello again, and good morning! This listing is for items that did not sell during the January 17 Auction, so you can buy anything you want right here and right now - no buyer's premiums, no additional fees. *FREE shipping for any order over $100. *All items priced at $1 are now .75 each Each lot was individually imaged (front and back) for the auction - so the easiest way for you to see exactly what you're buying is to visit the auction link (the auction is over, so I'm not advertising anything different or advertising an upcoming auction) - so here that is: https://www.invaluable.com/catalog/2qx7j50tq0?size=50&page=1&categories=&sort= Here is the required "prove you still have the stuff" photo with the username card and today's date: PHOTO Payment: PayPal only. I do not have Venmo/Zello/Bitcoin or any other form of digital payment at this time. No notes if using PPFF, please. (Thank you.) If you choose to use PPFF, please make sure to send me your shipping address here as it won't automatically load with your payment. Shipping: I will charge you what it costs me for the USPS label rounded up to the nearest dollar. For First Class that is usually $4, for USPS Priority Mail Flat Rate Small Box it will be $9. I will get you a tracking number right after payment is received and will get your package scanned into the USPS system within 24 hours of receipt of payment. I will offer "Risky Shipping" (via stamped greeting card)at my discretionfor $1 - for single, small coins ONLY.NOTE: These prices are for Continental US shipping only - if you live outside the continental US, shipping will be more expensive. I am still happy to do it under the same rules as above, but just keep in mind it's going to cost more. What do YOU need to do to buy coins from this group: send me a list of which lots you want (for example, I want to buy lots # 51, 52, 53, 54, 55) and I will send you a total. There are too many coins here (plus there are duplicates) so I cannot look up the coins you want by description - just give me lot numbers and it will be much simpler. I'd like to make a simple and polite request - if I have sent you my PayPal information (meaning we've agreed to a deal) please finish it up as soon as you can so I can check you off the list and move on to the next person. This helps make sure you get all the coins we discussed and no one else is in limbo. I will do my absolute best to update the ad as soon as lots sell. France, CANCELLED: Bayonne, Arena
This concert was cancelled at the very last minute and the following statement was made the following day. Jay Kay would like to apologise to disappointed fans for the cancellation of last night's show in France. Jay's on-going groin injury has been diagnosed as a hernia which will be need to be operated on later in the summer. Following an MRI scan last week specialists had advised rest but Jay has insisted he wants to try to finish the current run of dates. Doctors have said that provided he manages the pain sufficiently he can continue performing if he feels able. During the course of the past two days the pain flared up again and yesterday he reluctantly decided he did not feel he well enough to perform last night. After two days rest he is hopeful he will be able to complete the remaining 4 shows of the current run, including Toulon tomorrow night. Jay said "I would like to thank fans for their understanding, this is a very frustrating injury and some days the pain is just too extreme to perform to a standard I believe is acceptable. I promise I will do my best to come back out again soon when I'm fully fit and am optimistic I'll be able to pull off the remaining shows of the run."

Introducing the 10 stadiums of the Euro 2016 in France!
Welcome to this post fellow redditors! With the Euro 2016 less than 6 months away, it is time to introduce the stadiums that will host the fixtures of this tournament. For each city, you will find an in-depth description of the stadium, a photo album and a link to the city guide made by UEFA. Let me know if I made some mistakes or oversights. I hope you enjoy the reading! Nota Bene:
All kick-off times of the fixtures are CET.
The names of the stadiums have been standardized for the Euro 2016 if their name is from a naming deal (this is the case for Bordeaux and Nice stadiums). The current names of the stadium can be found in brackets.
All inauguration dates of the renovated stadiums are for the renovation for the Euro 2016 except for the Parc des Princes where the renovations were too minor to consider an inauguration date.

Culpeper – self-made multimillionaire American businessman; early 1900s’ owner and head of The Coca Cola Bottling Company Robert De Niro – Oscar-winning actor-producer; knighted (France: Chevalier [Knight] of the Legion of Honor; Chevalier [or Chev.] Robert De Niro) Gerard Depardieu – Oscar-nominated actor; knighted (France: Chevalier [or Chev.] Gerard Depardieu) (elementary school dropout) Richard Desmond – self-made billionaire British publisher Joe Lewis – self-made billionaire British businessman Carl Lindn er – self-made billionaire American businessman John Llewellyn – U.S. Labor leader pioneer; for 40 years until his retirement, president of the United Mine Workers Union Marcus Loew – self-made multimillionaire American businessman; early Hollywood pioneer; founder of the Loews†movie-theater chain; co-fondner of MGM studios (elementary school dropout) Mary Lyon – American women’s education pioneer; early American teacher; founder of Mount Holyoke College (America’s first women’s college) Sonny Bono – singer-songwriter-actor, U.S. Congressman (California U.S. Representative) Horace Greeley – American newspaper publisher-editor; U.S. Congressman; U.S. Presidential candidate; co-founder of the Republican party in the United States Here is another list of people that dropped out of high school or college. They have gone on to make more money then the rest of their graduating class all together: Alan Gerry is another billionaire high school dropout. Gerry 71 also filled his bank account by exploiting a new technology. In 1956, ten years after he dropped out of high school, Gerry built the first cable television network in upstate New York. He made his fortune in this new market, and then sold his company, Cablevision, to Time Warner for $2.6 billion four years ago. Now Gerry is chairman of a venture capital firm called Granite Associates. Granite funds entrepreneurs trying to make their money in burgeoning technology industries, just as Gerry made his fortune by getting into cable when it was still in its infancy. When you have a brilliant idea, nobody is going to ask to see your diploma, Gerry says. You don’t need a four-year college degree if you have burning ambition or a great plan. Take Spud King John R. Simplot. Simplot, was born on an Idaho farm and left home when he was 14 because he was sick of milking cows.†Simplot followed that with a half century of hard work and shrewd investments, he made a killing in Micron (nyse: MU – news – people ). How important was education to his success? Hell, he says, I didn’t even get out of the eighth grade. Tom Monaghan owner of Dominioes and former owner of the Detroit Tigers: I floundered during the rest of high school and graduated last in my class. They weren’t even going to graduate me, but I pleaded with a nun. She said, Well, you got good marks in the seminary, so I’ll let you graduate. But don’t ever ask me to recommend you for college. One day in 1960, my brother told me about a pizza shop in Ypsilanti, Mich., called Dominoes, that a friend of his was selling. My brother was interested but afraid to do it on his own, so he asked if I’d do it with him. I was having problems paying my way through school, so I said yes. It was $500 down, and we borrowed $900. I got a 15-minute lesson in making pizza from Dominick, and I was off. We opened up without an attorney. I didn’t even collect sales tax “didn’t know I had to. The plan was for me to work half the night and my brother to work the other half. But it didn’t work because he didn’t want to leave his full-time job as a mailman. Within about eight months he wanted out, and I bought him out by giving him the Volkswagen we used for deliveries. Most of you probably know that Dave Thomas the founder of Wendys was a high school dropout. Peter Jennings-High School Dropout Here is a couple of notable geniuses that were not billionaires. They were rich with knowledge but not cash. They were high school dropouts. Albert Einstein Thomas Edison Hong Kong self-made billionaire Li Ka-Shing, worth $18.8 billion or so, is Asia’s richest man. He is also the richest Chinese in the world, and according to Forbes, the 10th richest man in the world. When he was just 12 years old, Li and his family fled to Hong Kong when Japan invaded China. When he was 15, Liâ’s father died and he was forced to drop out of high school to support his family. Li got his start as a salesman selling watches at his uncle’s store, and soon proved to be a diligent worker: he worked 16 hour days, visited customers during the day and worked at the factory at night. Determined to better himself, Li even found a tutor to teach him English every night! When he was 21, Li opened a plastic manufacturing company and grew his business by selling high quality plastic flowers at bargain prices. When Li was 30, he accidentally got into real estate because he couldn’t renew the lease for his factory and was forced to purchase and develop a site himself. From there, Li diversified into electronics, telecommunications, retails, ports, and even power and electricity. Li is also noted for his philantrophy: he gave millions to various universities and disaster-relief. All in all, not bad for a high school drop-out. Amancio Ortega. Amancio Ortega was a son of a railway worker turned fashion-mogul and Spain’s richest man. He is worth $14.8 billion. Ortega started out at the age of 14 as a gofer in a shirt store. At the age of 27, he started his own company to make bathrobes. Twelve years later, he opened his first store called Zara, which would become an enormously popular chain. Ortega kept a very low profile (so much so that when he did make a public appearance in 2000, it made headlines in Spanish press!) but we’re guessing it’s not because this billionaire dropped out of high school. François Pinault. François who? You may not recognize the name, but you’ll definitely know his products: through his retail and luxury goods holding company PPR, Franasois Pinault owns (or has owned) Gucci, YSL, Converse sneakers, Samsonite luggage, the Vail ski resort in Colorado, and the auction house Christie’s. But donâ’t tell the luxury goods buyers that Pinault is a high school dropout – just tell them he’s worth $7 billion. David Murdock had a tough childhood – he dropped out of high school in ninth-grade and pumped gas until he was drafted into the Army. Since then, however, life had worked out for him: Murdock did a leveraged buyout of Castle & Cooke, which then bought Dole Food Company and assumed its name. So, next time you eat a Dole pinapple, remember that the guy that owns it was a high school drop out (and by buying the product, you’re making him that much richer than the $4 billion he’s currently worth) Kirk Kerkorian. Self-made billionaire Kirk Kerkorian was an amateur boxer (Rifle Right Kerkorina) and a pilot. At the age of 30, he got his start by buying a small air-charter service flying gamblers from Los Angeles to Las Vegas in 1947. Seeing opportunities in Las Vegas, Kerkorian bought land and got into the lucrative real estate / casino development. Since the 1960s, Kerkorian had bought (and sold) hot properties like the Caesars Palace, the Las Vegas Hilton, MGM Grand Hotel and Casino, and others. Kerkorian’s current fortune is estimated to be around $8.7 billion – not bad for someone who was a highschool dropout. YC Wang. Can you technically label someone a dropout if he never started high school to begin with? Dunno, but this is too remarkable not to mention. Wait, there’s a billionaire here that never even set foot in high school? Yes. That’s YC Wang, a self-made Taiwanese billionaire who made his fortune in plastics and chemicals. The octagenarian is now the head of Taiwan’s Formosa Plastics, one of the largest plastic manufacturers in the world. Wang was born to a tea farmer and was forced to enter the work force with only an elementary school education. He did well for himself, though – Wang is now worth $5.4 billion. Virgin’s Richard Branson is worth $2.8 billion and that’s not too shabby for a guy who didn’t even finish high school. Branson suffered from dyslexia and dropped out of high school at 16 years of age. What he lacked in schooling, however, he made up in curiosity and entrepreneur zeal – when he was 15, he had started two business ventures: growing Christmas trees and raising parrots! When he was 17, Branson opened his first charity and started his first record business. Along with Nik Powell, Branson opened a small record store in London called Virgin. It specialized in krautrock imports. Virgin became a veritable giant (branching out into things like airways, telecommunication and so forth) and Branson was knighted in 1999 for services to entrepreneurship. More education doesn’t mean you’ll be more successful. It’s all about your drive. Your passion in life and sticking to it. Not necessarily playing it safe. I’ve meet many people that have played it safe, with a good job and such and then retire broke. Don’t play it safe. Go for it like these people have. So, next time you want to call him a high school dropout, remember that it’s Sir high school dropout to you. From http://blog.christophersherrod.com/high-school-dropouts-are-more-successful/
Irish pubs outside Ireland. Which ones are worth a visit?
I think most Irish people prefer to avoid Irish pubs when on holiday, but for expats like myself they provide a welcome link with home. The problem is the standard (however you measure it) varies wildly. I thought we could maybe build a list of the best Irish pubs outside Ireland. Name the pub, the city and, say, the three things that qualify it to be on a list of the best. My vote goes to... Mulligan's of Amsterdam
Staff that actually take pride in the job of serving behind a bar; that fact that they tend to be Irish helps, but it's more important that they understand the role of the bar(wo)man
A real commitment to playing almost exclusively Irish or Irish-related music
The TVs stay off unless there's a sporting fixture of genuine Irish interest (i.e. not Premier League Super Sunday)
Any other suggestions... EDIT. Here's the full list of pubs recommended below. No particular order... Sorry if missed one. Europe

Tuesday 02/02/2016, 19:00, France Ligue 1 Round 24 Monaco vs Bastia Preview Theoretically, Monaco is well-positioned to take on the leader, because the team sits in the second-place. What actually happens is that they've got a huge gap to close and it is obvious by now that they've got no chance whatsoever to overtake PSG. The best case scenario is for them to consolidate this position and finished the regular season in the second-place to secure a Champions League berth. They could make a significant step into the right direction this evening by defeating Bastia at home. Monaco vs Bastia Odds At 12bet Monaco 1.45, Draw 4.00, Bastia 9.00 Monaco vs Bastia Tips Home pitch advantage health Monaco to some extent, as the team managed to keep a clean sheet on many occasions but victories were hard to secure. Way too often, they had to settle for a single point and once again the specter of a draw is looming. This time, the reason for concern is given by the long list of injured players, as the home side can't rely on 10 footballers. Somehow, they found the resources to scrap points both at home and on the road, until fatigue finally caught up with them and they suffered a shocking loss on the road. To make matters worse, they were defeated Angers, the teams sitting in the third-place and the most likely opponent to overtake them. Another defeat would further complicate matters for Monaco, so the top priority is not to lose this match in front of their fans. Bastia on the other hand managed to avoid the third consecutive defeats and claim three vital points at home against Lyon. It was a narrow margin victory but they managed to keep a clean sheet, which means a great deal ahead of this fixture. The visitors have their own absentees, but unlike Monaco, the reason for having so many players unfit to play is that they picked up yellow and red cards. The manager is surely furious with their performance and truth be told, these players should be fined for sabotaging their team. Bastia will now have to hold its ground without these key players and hope that Monaco will be unable to score again. Key Facts Both teams are average with injuries and the offensive departments are seriously affected. Monaco has the upper hand in head to head games, but the home crowd is hardly intimidating. Monaco vs Bastia Prediction Bookmakers are overly confident in the home side's ability to triumph, despite the fact that 10 players will miss from its starting formations. 12bet is one of them so punters need to do the exact opposite and back the underdogs at high stakes. To enjoy decent odds without taking serious chances it's recommended to trust Bastia to cover the +1.5 goals spread. Bet: Bastia + 1.5 goals @ 1.60 with 12bet via www.casinoreviews.casino
The season is finally here and u/Exells took the initiative to start a guide for people who aren't as familiar with Ligue 1 as they are with other leagues. Over the next week or so, we will continue to post team previews in no specific order and I might start doing more than one per day. If you have volunteered to write a review, but haven't sent it in yet, please do, otherwise I might be doing a hatchet job via wikipedia on some of the lesser known teams if i have time. On a side note: You can't believe how long it took me to find out that I hadn't submitted this one!
AS Saint-Étienne
Write up by: ptexy Logo General ASSE, or L’Association Sportive de Saint Étienne Loire, was founded in 1919 and has since then become the most successful club in the history of French football, with ten Ligue 1 titles, six French cup titles, one League Cup, and five Trophées des Champions. Their trophy cabinet dwarves even that of Paris or Marseille, as ‘Les Verts’ dominated the French football scene throughout the 60s and 70s. The City ‘Sainté’ play in the Stade Geoffrey-Guichard, and boast one of the most impressive atmospheres in Ligue 1, as the city of Saint-Étienne is truly football-crazy. The team is the crown jewel and pride of their city, the capital of the Loire region, located in eastern France, only 50 kilometres away from their fierce rivals, Lyon. It is the 14th most populous city in France, and it is a beautiful town either to visit or live in. History ASSE was founded in 1919 by a group of grocery-story workers, yes, grocery-store workers, who worked for the Supermarket chain ‘Groupe Casino’, hence, the green colour of the club, as it was the colour of the Groupe Casino grocery store. Eight years later, Pierre Guichard took over the club to merge it with a local club, Stade Forézien Universitaire, and renamed the team ‘Association Sportive Stéphanoise’, as ‘Stéphanois(e)’ is the adjective for something from Saint-Étienne. It was only in the early 30’s that the club turned professional and changed its name to its current form. The Stéphanois club comfortably installed itself in the elite of French and European football throughout the 20th Century, even getting to the final of the European Cup in 1976, only to lose against Bayern Munich. Although Sainté dominated the match, they hit the crossbar continually. These infamous crossbars are now exposed in the ASSE museum for all fans to see, curse and cry at. Saint Étienne have produced and developed many notable players, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Kurt Zouma, Michel Platini, Laurent Blanc, Blaise Matuidi, Dimitri Payet, Kevin Mirallas, all once wore proudly the green of Saint-Étienne. Last Season Last season, Saint-Étienne did neither disappoint nor enthrall their loyal fanbase, finishing in sixth place just below LOSC Lille at 58 points. Manager Christophe Galtier brought the possibility of another Europa League campaign to Les Verts after their knockout last season in the group stage. This season, though the summer transfer window is not over yet, Saint Étienne have lost a couple of key players. Maupay, Tabanou, Cohade, Clerc, Bahebeck, Diomandé, Assou-Ekotto, and Brison have left the club; that’s eight important players. So far, only Cheick Mbengue from Toulouse and Bryan Dabo from Montpellier have joined the club, which is not very reassuring so far. I expect Saint-Étienne to have a season much like the last with a few late arrivals towards the end of transfer window to strengthen their roster, along with Beric and Tannane coming back from injury and Paul Baysse coming back from loan. Now, it’s up to Galtier and the boys in green to prove me wrong. Expected XI Sainté could line up as follows next season in a 4-3-3:
Their bench could look like this: Soderlund, Roux, Cohade, Moulin, Baysse, Monnet-Paquet, Clément. Player to watch Stéphane Ruffier Ruffier arrived from Monaco in 2011 and has become one of the best keepers in the league, even being called up to the France squad several times since 2010 and being nominated three times in a row for best keeper of Ligue 1. Now that his worst enemy and serial humiliator, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, has left the league, Ruffier should have an even better season in 16/17. Why you should follow ASSE If you love teams with a lot of history and an explosive fanbase and you enjoy a crazy atmosphere at your home games, Saint-Étienne is the club for you. If you’re a Liverpool fan, I could see you liking Les Verts, both very successful clubs historically, but not so much recently. Plus, Pogba’s brother plays for them, so they must have something going for them, right? Also, if you really hate Lyon, or know a Lyon fan that gets on your nerves, Saint-Étienne, is definitely the club for you. I hope green brings out your eyes! (Also their jerseys are designed by Le Coq Sportif, and are always really sweet). Why should Messi go to ASSE Why should Messi go to Saint-Étienne? Because his favourite colour is red, which is the complimentary colour to green, which is Saint-Étienne’s colour. I’ve already contacted the Sun, they’re running this on their front page next week as ‘Messi to Saint-Étienne: done deal”. You’re welcome. Why would ASSE be relegated? Why would the club be relegated to Domino’s™ Ligue 2? Well, realistically, they won’t, unless there is some kind of major disaster á la 15/16 Marseille. The team sheet isn’t Champions League worthy but it still have the potential to be at the foot of the French podium with the right play style and management. With Christophe Galtier as their manager, the club is in good hands.
